The Sex Factor 2008

It all began in January. We invited the Young People to ask ANY question about sex and sexuality. No holes barred! They didn't disappoint and came up with some absolute crackers. Using these common themes and topics, we put together a month-long programme designed to bring some biblical teaching and input into these important issues.

After we had got over the initial embarrassment of mentioning the word 'SEX' and the nervous giggles had subsided (this was just the Leaders), the Sex Factor proved to be an important time of dealing with some mega important issues in a safe, honest and (dare I say it), fun way.

We winced. We cringed. We laughed. We cried. We told Nun jokes. We ate cakes, biscuits and drank hot chocolate. We grew closer together as a Youth Group and closer to Jesus as we focussed on following His awesome example of living a pure and holy life in a sexually messed up world.

We pray you meet with God through these talks and allow the Holy Spirit to impart deep, life-changing revelation as you listen to and put into practice all that we have shared.

For the sake of confidentiality, taste and brevity, one or two things have been edited.

A Word of Warning

Two of the talks (Week 2: "Dating Dilemmas" and Week 3: "Internet Intimacy and the Porn Problem") are 15RATED. This means they are aimed at older teenagers who face considerably more adult challenges and issues as they seek to remain sexually pure. Consequently, they need teaching which is more mature in content and approach.

For this reason, we ask that you do NOT listen to these talks if you are easily offended, over-sensitive or under 15! If you are a younger teen who wishes to listen to the 15RATED talks, then we recommend you ask your parents to 'vet' them first.
