Zambia

Aid International has been involved in work in Zambia for many years on a number of different projects. In the past we have worked alongside Africa Enterprise Trust on jobs such as renovating buildings for use as orphanages, and constructing a boundary wall to protect the charity's land and buildings from thieves.

We have also been involved with Fountain of Life Church, where we established the SMILES child sponsorship team.

Zimbabwe

More recently Bristol Community Church has begun supporting a new work in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, coming alongside Springs of Life Assemblies, a group of churches spread across Zimbabwe, to support their vision for the future.

The new project, called New Home Brick Makers and headed up by Jackson Dube, who oversees 10 congregations within Springs of Life Assemblies, will involve the production and sale of bricks and other building materials.

The profits raised will go to support church activities, create job opportunities for young people within the church, improve welfare and aid outreach into the community. There are also plans for a worship centre to be built, as well as a gardening project on the church land.

The long term plan is to ensure that the church is self-sustaining, to establish regular training opportunities for young people in skills such as brick making, carpentry, dress making and cookery, and also to set up a children's play centre.

Bristol Community Church looks forward to supporting Springs of Life Assemblies in their work, and building the relationship between our two communities. If you would like any more information, please speak to Bob Hamer
